![]() The Quick Help Button disabled and hidden from Control Bar.Here are two tips for navigating new buttons in the Control Bar at the top of the Main Window. Within this window, the primary workspace for your audio and MIDI regions is now called the Tracks area, no longer the Arrange area. Incidentally, the 'Arrange Window', as it was known in Logic Pro 9, is now referred to by Apple as the 'Main Window'. No more accidentally opening another app! Given all the navigation is managed at the top of the screen, your eye should adjust fairly easily. For those of us who keep the Mac dock on the bottom, it's a relief to have the two finally out of each other's way. Transport: This has been moved up from the bottom of the screen where it has lived since the beginning of Logic time. You can also swipe down to show the graphic again. This is easily fixed by pulling up directly above the search field just under the 'Library' label to hide the graphic. ![]() The eye barely needs to move to shift focus between them.Īnother layout change to the Library, that may at first be disconcerting to the pro user, is the new instrument graphic above the search field. This is perhaps the most logical reorganisation in Logic Pro X, placing the Library (for shopping for sounds) conveniently next to the Inspector channel strip where you can modify the sound. Logic Pro 9 versus Logic Pro X.The Library: One of the most notable changes that should have reassured Logic users immediately that the redesign has the pro user's best interests in mind is the Library's move from the right to the left side of the Main Window. Let's start with the interface elements that have been moved. Hopefully Logic users will agree that it's easy when you know how. This month, however, is about a few changes in your line of sight during basic operation. Over the last 10 months, this column has covered several of the significant new features like Drummer, Patches, Track Stacks and Smart Controls.
